Multimedia Sports Journalist

My name is Alex Zanolle, and I am a lifelong Haddonfield, New Jersey, native and a proud Haddonfield Memorial High School graduate. In May 2025, I will graduate from Rowan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Communication & Media, with a dual concentration in Sports Journalism and Sports PR/Advertising.

Sports have always been my passion; it has shaped who I am. Playing sports growing up taught me valuable life lessons and helped mold me into the man I am today. Growing up in the Philly area, Philly sports is in my blood as I am a die-hard Phillies and Eagles fan. Beyond just being a fan, I wanted to build a career in sports, something that lets me stay connected to what I love most.

When I entered college, I was unsure exactly where that path would take me. I started as an Athletic Training major, but quickly realized my true passion is in storytelling and media. Switching majors after my first year was the best decision I have ever made, as it helped me discover not just what I love, but how I can turn it into a career. I firmly believe that if you love what you do, you will never "work" a day in your life.

As a multimedia sports journalist, I have worked hard to hone my writing, reporting, and storytelling skills, and I am hungry to keep growing. I have written for The Whit, Rowan's student newspaper, and I currently intern for the Athletic Director at Haddonfield Memorial High School, where I help manage daily operations, communications, and event support for the athletic department.

This website serves as a centralized hub for my best work throughout my college career and provides an outlet to showcase the stories I have told, skills I have developed, and the passion that fuels me. I am excited to continue evolving, connecting with others in the industry, and using my voice to shine a light on the powerful stories within the world of sports.

Early on in my college journey, I faced significant challenges. It took me hitting rock bottom to truly reflect, grow, and take control of my life. I have made mistakes and experienced my share of setbacks and failures, but I have come to believe that it is only a failure if you do not learn from it. I have learned my lessons and was forced to mature, which has led to me earning straight A's in my final 39 college credits. I set that goal for myself, and my determination and work ethic to achieve that were unparalleled. I proved to myself and others what I am truly capable of. I have struggled with self-doubt, and I know others have doubted me too. However, I have turned my whole life around through hard work, discipline, and most importantly, belief in myself. I am living proof that with resilience and determination, you can overcome any adversity life throws at you and achieve whatever you set your mind to. It does not matter what anyone else says you can or cannot do, as long as you know who you are and what you are capable of, that is all that matters. If you believe in yourself, you are unstoppable.
